I have worked 3 separate homicides with full on investigation unleashed. One involved a homeless man where the investigation went way beyond the prosecutions to produce case breaking evidence to release the client from a murder hold.

Two other cases were gang related and getting along with gang members can be difficult and sometimes impossible. However, persistence has been my modus operandi. Although most potential witnesses won't talk, they usually will provide some kind of leads just by talking to them.

My ways of talking are different than any others and I have a lot of success. Reviewing evidence collected by the DA investigation is very useful as you can't always depend on the words of the DA investigators. Some evidence such as finger prints or eye witnesses are not always defensible but every phase of a Homicide defense has to be considered.
